Moore Taylor’s Myers Named Lieutenant Colonel

Moore Taylor Law Firm announces that Stanley L. Myers, a partner at the firm, has been promoted to Lieutenant Colonel in the South Carolina Army National Guard.

At Moore Taylor, Myers practices personal injury, worker’s compensation, criminal defense and military law. He is a 1998 graduate of the Citadel, where he now is a member of thBoard of Visitors, and is a 2003 graduate of the David A. Clark School of Law at the University of the District of Columbia. Myers deployed as a Captain with the 218th Infantry Brigade to Afghanistan for a 15-month combat tour in support of Operation Enduring Freedom. He also serves as the Staff Judge Advocate for the 59th Troop Command at McEntire Joint National Guard Base.

Myers is a member of the South Carolina Bar, South Carolina Trial Lawyers and the South Carolina Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers. He is also the founder of the Swansea Mentoring Program for youth in his hometown of Swansea, S.C.

Moore Taylor Names Riley Partner and Williams Joins the Firm

Moore Taylor Law Firm announces that it has named Ralph Nichols (Nick) Riley, Jr. a partner in the firm. Additionally, Moore Taylor has
hired Justin T. Williams as an associate.

Nick Riley Named Partner

Riley practices criminal,
civil and family law. He is a native of Saluda, S.C. and is a 2004 graduate of
the College of Charleston. He graduated from the University of South Carolina
School of Law in 2009. As a member of the Lexington County, Richland County and
South Carolina bars and the South Carolina Association for Justice, Riley is
also admitted to practice in U.S. District Court and assists prosecutions in
Irmo, S.C.

Justin Williams Hired as Associate

Williams
practices in workers’ compensation, civil litigation and criminal law. He is a
graduate of the University of South Carolina, where he served as student body
president. He is also a graduate of the University School of Law. Justin is a judge advocate in the United
States Army Reserve and holds the rank of captain.

Seven Moore Taylor Attorneys Named to South Carolina Super Lawyers List

Myers Inducted to American Board of Trial Advocates

Moore Taylor Law Firm announces that Stanley L. Myers, a partner at the firm, has been inducted into the American Board of Trial Advocates (ABOTA).

The American Board of Trial Advocates is a national association of experienced trial lawyers and judges dedicated to the preservation and promotion of the civil jury trial right provided by the Seventh Amendment to the U.S. Constitution. ABOTA works to uphold the jury system by educating the American public about the history and value of the right to trial by jury.

Fortino Named Moore Taylor Partner

Moore Taylor Law Firm, P.A. announces that it has named William (Bill) Fortino a partner in the firm.

Fortino practices family law, including divorce, child custody, visitation, child support, property division, adoption and other domestic cases. He is a native of Syracuse, N.Y., where he earned his bachelor’s from Le Moyne College in 2001. He graduated from the University of South Carolina School of Law in 2009.

As a member of the Lexington County and South Carolina bars and the South Carolina Association for Justice, Fortino is also admitted to practice in U.S. District Court. He speaks on family law issues for National Business Institute seminars and the Continuing Legal Education program at the South Carolina Bar. He also serves as a board member of Fresh Start SC.

Managing Partner Honored

Moore Taylor Law Firm, P.A. is pleased to announce managing partner James Edward “Ward” Bradley has been selected as an honoree at the South Carolina Lawyer’s Weekly’s 2014 Leadership in Law Awards event. The Leadership in Law Awards spotlight those in the South Carolina legal community who have achieved success in their law practice, made contributions to society and had an impact on the legal industry.

Bradley is the managing partner at Moore Taylor Law Firm, focusing his practice mainly on business and personal injury litigation for plaintiffs and defendants. He is currently on the Board of Governors for the South Carolina Bar and is the President-Elect of the Richland County Bar Association. Bradley has been active in the State Bar where he has served as chair of the judicial qualifications committee. He has also served as the president of the USC School of Law Alumni Association.

The Greater Irmo Chamber of Commerce presented a Lifetime Achievement Award to Jake Moore of the Moore Taylor Law Firm, P.A. at its recent 2014 Annual Gala. The award recognized Mr. Moore for his civic and professional involvement in the community. Criteria for the Lifetime achievement award requires the candidate demonstrate exceptional commitment to volunteerism by helping with special projects and ongoing activities in the community throughout their career. The candidate must also demonstrate positive community impact during their lifetime. The lifetime achievement award is presented to a member of the community in chamber who has benefited our community and chamber, exceptional commitment to volunteerism, and has the utmost respect for the community and chamber.

As an active participant in the Greater Irmo Chamber of Commerce, Mr. Moore has proven himself to be a dependable and dedicated member of the business community. In addition, he has continually demonstrated his commitment to sustainability through his work as the chair of the Irmo Arbor Day Committee and in his position on the board of Keep the Midlands Beautiful. Mr. Moore has had heavy involvement in establishing three parks within the Greater Irmo area, as well as the beautification of two elementary schools within the Irmo area. He has also assisted in the beautification of four churches and has worked to upgrade and development of the railroad tracks in Irmo. Mr. Moore has also worked as an attorney for the Town of Irmo for 36 years.
